Cold Mornings

I've often said of late that I'd like to move to Florida to escape the cold winters of New England. Perhaps it will happen, perhaps not. I realized today that there is a certain joy in walking to the diner on a cold January morning for a cup of hot coffee and wheat toast. Yes it is cold outside, but there is even a bit of pleasure in that. Just like New England we must, in our lives, pass through a cold season to get to the warm summers. Just as we put on a warm jacket and gloves to protect against the cold winter wind we put on "the whole armor of God" to make it through lifes winters.

Lord, help us find the same pleasure in our cold winters as we find in our warm summers.
