I feel a little silly, probably because of the cold medicine, so I wrote this bedtime story for our westie, Bonnie.
===================
On the West Highland Island, off the coast of Scotland, there is a village named Barksdale. Barksdale is surrounded by corn fields, which is weird, because it's in Scotland, but that doesn't matter right now. White Terriers live in Barksdale, but locals call them Westies. The Westies love their little town because the cornfield field is full of mice, which they chase all day.
In the corn around Barksdale lives a mean, wicked, dog-catcher (named Bob) who likes to catch puppies and throw them in a pot of boiling water for stew. To keep themselves safe, when someone sees Bob they shout "woof" and everyone scatters into the well known corn and helps the distressed if possible.
There was a naughty puppy named Rogue in Barksdale never did anything right. One night Rogue got bored and decided to shout "woof" just to see everybody scatter into the corn. It was very funny to her, but everyone was very angry with Rogue and scolded her severely. Rogue did the same thing for two more nights.
On the fourth night Rogue's mom sent her to the field to collect more mice because they had visitors and needed more. While Rogue was out Bob came after her. Rogue cried "woof, woof, woof," over and over again but nobody scattered or came to help because they thought it was another joke.
Bob rolled Rogue up like bread dough and threw her in a pot of water and made puppy dumplings. And nobody ever heard from Rogue again.
The moral of the story is, "Don't be a Rogue".
