The Holy Land Experience brings together the sights and sounds of the world
of the Bible in a unique and interactive way unlike anywhere else.
It is a living, biblical museum that takes you 7000 miles away and 2000
years back in time to the land of the Bible. Its combination of sights, sounds,
and tastes will stimulate your senses and blend together to create a spectacular
new experience.
But above all, beyond the fun and excitement, we hope that you will see
God and His Word exalted and that you will be encouraged in your search for
enduring truth and the ultimate meaning of life.
Its educational, its inspirational, its theatrical, its historical.
Though the park is small it is open only from 10am to 5pm so it takes a day and a half to two days to see all the exibits and shows unless you want to run yourself raggid. In between taking pictures and eating I saw the following exibits/shows.
- The guided tour (30 min).
- The Wilderness Tabernacle (20 min).
- The Seed Promise (30 minutes).
- The Scriptorium (55 minutes).
- A historical presentation titled "The Dead Sea Scrolls" (15 min).
- A historical presentation titled "The empty tomb" (15 min).
- A presention on a model of Jerusalem circ AD 66 (30 min).
- The live dramatic presentation titled "The Ministry of Jesus" (15 min).
- The live musical passion drama titled "Behold the Lamb" (20 min).
I'll briefly go over those items for which the title is not self explanitory. The Seed Promise was a movie presentation from Genesis to Revelation regarding the promise of God to bring forth a righteous seed. The Scriptorium is a museum with a self guided tour that traces the history of scripture, specifically the Bible. The Empty Tomb was about the tomb of Jesus and its possible locations. They have the worlds largest indoor model (its HUGE) of Jerusalem City and gave a presentation showing where different events in scripture took place and telling a little about the history of the city. The Ministry of Jesus was a re-enactment of Jesus giving a sermon. And Behold the Lamb was the finale of the day and was a heart wrenching re-enactment of the crucifixtion and resurection of Christ.
If you have any specific questions about the different things I saw please leave a comment or send me an email.
