Fourth Day

I attended a church this morning called C3. There were more people there than I've seen in a church sanctuary in a very long time. When I first entered the sanctuary I was amused to see a Harley or Harley-like motorcycle on the "stage" area and a drum set ringed in a plexiglass cage. The music was contemporary Christian rock and contemporary praise and worship. The dress code is very casual, one of the assistant pastors wore blue jeans and a t-shirt. The sermon was inspiring and educational. He preached about spiritual fitness and taught out from 1 Timothy 4:7-8, John 6:35, Hebrews 5:14, John 14:26, Philipians 2:12-13, and 1 Theselonians 5:11. Some of the thinks I wrote him down as saying (but not necessarily a perfect quote) are, "We are spiritually fat; consuming the word of God in great quantities, but but performing no activity to show we have." And when comparing our spiritual live to weight lifting he asked, "Who is your spiritual spotter?". At the end he said, "Christ is my personal trainer." I imagine I'll be back there again and I will probably miss it when I leave.

I found a Walmart Neighborhood Market today and stopped in to check it out. It was a grocery store. Hmmm. We don't have those in Connecticut.
